| 内容記述 | The purpose of this paper is to analyze the effects of parental social background and youth’s ethnic identity on the formation of an orientation toward intra-ethnic partner choice among second generation Chinese in Japan by use of quantitative data analysis. The findings are as follows. Having an identity of Chinese culture-oriented tends to show an orientation of intra-ethnic marriage, however, the effect of ethnic identity is no significant in contrast with a significant effect of parental social background. Secondly, the effect of parental intervention on the orientation of partner choice is supported significantly regardless of familial social backgrounds, even after taking into consideration of mother’s educational background and regional factor concerning rural areas in China. The results show that how parental intervention is considered among them by examining their narratives for further research. | |||||||||||||||||
